Solo and Ensemble gives students a chance to perform either solos, duets, trio, quartets (we even had an octet this year).  This event has gotten so big for Cox Mill that we have to host our own solo and ensemble and hire judges to come in to our school.

This year we had 64 performing events (solos, duets, ect.) that performed this past Saturday morning at Cox Mill.  Out of 64, 53 events earned superior ratings and 11 earned excellent ratings.

We registered 126 donors and collected 90 units touching up to 270 lives.  This was the biggest and best to date.  Our NHS members asked the Community Center if we could honor those victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School by dedicating the drive and blood to the victims who lost their lives that day and although it had never been done before they agreed to let us.  A certificate will be mailed to the town indicating what we did and a plaque will be displayed at CMC-Northeast.

Kira had a tough start but fought back for a 50 – 43 total 93 score and in 35th place and Jaime finished with three tough holes and a 48 – 48 total 96 score still good for 52nd. On day two Jaime battled the course for a 50 – 47 total of 97 and two day total of 193. Kira still fighting the conditions shot 46 – 50 for a total of 96 and a two day total of 189. Jensen remained consistent and had the team’s best rounds for the second day, finishing 42 – 43 for a total of 85 and a two day total of 173. The final outcome placed Cox Mill in 5th overall in 3A with a team score of 555. Jensen R finished the State Tournament tied for 12th, Kira A in 29th and Jaime C tied for 35th.
This was a great effort by these girls at the State Tournament, but all through the year these three plus Senior Nicole H and Sophomore Alyssa H dominated the SPC regular season and Conference Tournament.
