Welcome to my webpage! I was born in Arizona and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico; but I have called North Carolina my home since I started teaching in Kernersville, NC in 2002! I have been a public educator in the North Carolina Public School System for twenty years, and seventeen of those years I've spent here at Concord High School in the social studies classroom or as an International Baccalaureate Coordinator.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum incorporates inquiry-based learning with a holistic approach. The Middle Years Program (MYP) is transdisciplinary, and the Diploma Program (DP) is disciplinary. The IB program is quickly growing throughout the United States and abroad. Mrs. Wingfield is the MYP Coordinator, overseeing the 9th and 10th-grade curriculum, and I oversee the DP curriculum, 11th, and 12th grade. 

In my spare time, I like to spend it with my husband (CHS class of '97) and two children, Annabelle (5) and Silas (9). We love to travel to the mountains, to the beach, and to the Rocky Mountains in the Southwest. We love watching football, playing baseball and soccer, watching live music, and riding skateboards.
