• Lori Tong Mrs. Lori Tong

My name is Lori Tong, and I am super excited to be flying back to the Cardinal family after being away for three years. I first nested at Allen as a Title I Teacher from 2010-2013. This upcoming school year I will serve as a Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL).  This year I will be working with 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade ELA.  One of my roles as a MCL is to look at student data with classroom teachers and to help them make decisions on how to best meet the needs of all students.  This will be my fourteenth year with Cabarrus County Schools. In addition to A.T. Allen, I've worked at W.R. Odell Elementary, R. Brown McAllister Elementary, and Cox Mill Elementary. My job roles have included Lead Teacher/Literacy Facilitator, Interventionist, Testing Coordinator, Literacy Connect Teacher, Curriculum Writer, VEX Robotics Coach and classroom and summer school teacher at various grade levels.

Before I moved to Cabarrus County I lived in Northern Virginia and worked as a classroom teacher, summer school remediation and enrichment teacher, and Standards of Learning Remediator.

I've also done related educational work for James Madison University as a MathVIDS Model Teacher and Regional Trainer and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a research team lead for their Freedom School Project. I just finished up my 11th summer on this latest project.
