Mrs. Genny Fast

Hi! I'm Mrs. Genny Fast, and I am the AIG Program Chair for AT Allen & Cabarrus Virtual Academy, Grades 3-5.  I graduated from Appalachian State University and received my Graduate Certificate for Academically & Intellectually Gifted Education from UNC-Charlotte.  I began my teaching career at Weddington Hills Elementary School teaching second grade, then I moved to A.T. Allen, where I taught 5th grade ELA/Social Studies & now AIG.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Monty, my identical twin daughters, Aubrey and McCall, and my youngest daughter, Cora Mae! When I'm not busy with them or working at school,  I like to shop, spend time with old friends, read, make crafts, and cheer on my alma mater...Appalachian State Mountaineers!

I believe all children can and should learn! I hold each and every child to a high standard, but try to teach them life is about making mistakes and learning from them! I love watching students struggle through challenging tasks and then seeing the look of accomplishment on their faces at the end. As the AIG Chair, it is my main goal to ensure your child is receiving enrichment and reaching their fullest potential each day. I feel strongly that for a child's year to be successful they must have a positive attitude, work hard, and communicate with the teacher. I also like to keep communication frequent with parents. Please feel free to contact me about your child's progress or with any questions. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
