Mrs. Diane McClain Wins $500 CAPNCM Grant For PC Elementary

Congratulations to Mrs. Diane McClain! Mrs. McClain, Elementary School Guidance Counselor applied for a grant and won $500! The grant is from Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri.

The $500 will be used to create a comfortable place to provide individual and small group counseling with a therapeutic and calm setting. We have many students that have personal struggles from time to time and some students on a daily basis.

The grant money will help to facilitate a calm-down area for students to re-set and relax. The calm-down setting will include a weighted therapeutic blanket, stress-relief stations such as Play-Doh, kinetic sand, stress balls, and relaxed seating. Often times children want a safe spot to retreat to when worries and stress become overwhelming.
