Fremont PTA is a not-for-profit service organization that works to ensure the best possible experience and environment for Fremont's children, teachers and staff. Through our fundraising efforts we are able to offer curriculum-based school programs, facility improvements, teacher appreciation activities and social events to promote the strong sense of community we enjoy at Fremont. Through our volunteer efforts we provide thousands of hours of support to students, teachers and staff inside and outside the classroom. Becoming involved in the PTA is a great way to share opinions and information with other parents and your child's teachers, to learn about what's going on in school, to promote programs enhancing the education at Fremont and to be part of a strong voice speaking for our children's welfare. You do not have to attend meetings to be a member of the PTA!
One thing that makes our school so special is our parent participation. Studies have shown that children do better in school when parents volunteer – and our children are the beneficiaries of our dedicated Fremont parents. Together with our Parent Foundation (PAC) we are able to give our students opportunities many other schools do not have. Our Art and Music Docent programs bring arts education into the classroom on a regular basis. We offer special student educational assemblies to augment the curriculum, and students are also enriched with choral music and special field trips. We provide the funds for our school librarian and students visit our state-of-the-art computer lab once per week. We provide social events, such as the annual Father-Daughter Dance and Family Bingo Night, to keep our sense of community strong. We provide resources for our parents and staff to make sure everyone is well informed. Our parents are responsible for coordinating and implementing over 65 special programs and events at Fremont to assist and enrich the experience of our children, families, teachers and staff. We encourage you to get involved at our school – it truly does make a difference and will enrich the Fremont experience for both you and your child. No matter what your availability – full-time working parent or stay-at-home parent – there are volunteer opportunities that can fit your schedule. Be sure to explore the Programs and Events sections of this website for full explanations of all the amazing programs and volunteer opportunities available at our school. To us, there are no "outsiders." We are parents who have come together to work toward common goals and we would love to have you join us!We hope to see you at our PTA meetings, usually held on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Attending PTA meetings is a great way to keep informed and be a part of your child’s school experience. Our monthly meetings usually last until around 10 a.m., but if you can’t stay for the entire meeting, that’s fine! Children are always welcome at PTA meetings. For more information, please contact PTA President, Melissa M. Church.
