• Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month for September 2018:

    Jane O’Neil!

This is Jane’s third year at Fremont. She attends both PTA and PAC meetings and is currently co-chair of the Art Docent program, the PTA Reflections art contest, and in charge of the display cases this year.

She joined PTA when her son Hayden (now in 2nd grade) started Kindergarten and began volunteering in his class teaching art lessons and helping out with the annual Art Show. Last year she attended the annual PTA Convention, co-chaired the Art Docent program, edited the yearbook, and last month helped organize and run Fremont’s first Art Nights series. Jane just ran a Professional Development workshop for new and returning Art Docents as well as an in-class training session. Outside of Fremont, Jane is an actively exhibiting artist and advocate for public education, women’s rights, environmental sustainability and voter registration.

Here are what members of the community had to say about Jane:

“Among the PAC board, Jane was a popular pick for Volunteer of the Month due to her work on PTA Art Nights, and being a parent leader on art education at Fremont."

“The Art Nights were such a success! We have so much talent in our community. What a great way to introduce our kids to the wealth of social capital here.”

She and her husband Rob, along with Hayden and Mirren (who will turn 2 this month) love the community at Fremont.

Thank you, Jane for being such a giving member of the Fremont Family!
