Ms. Esther Hauber
I was raised in rural New York state in a small town called Campell (yes, it is smaller than MP!). After graduating from high school, I attended undergrad in the Midwest, getting my Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Wheaton College. I returned to New York state and worked as a nanny for a few years while figuring out my graduate school plans. I completed my graduate degrees (MA and MAT in English) at Binghamton University in 1999.
I began teaching in North Carolina in the fall of 1999 at CMS. In the summer of 2000, I applied for a job at Mount Pleasant Middle. In my interview, I was so impressed by the feeling of community at this school and the small town atmosphere. I was so excited to receive a job offer and have been a Tiger ever since. I have really enjoyed teaching and being a part of this community. Through the years, I have taught 7th and 8th grade ELA with an occasional addition of some Social Studies.
I am excited about starting the 2022-23 year in the Skills Plus Classroom. The power of reading to share ideas and show us the world is a passion of mine. I look forward to working with students to develop their strengths and readers and thinkers.
