Library/Media Center Book Checkout:
Students in Plan C (all remote) can place library books on "hold" in Destiny Library and pick them up at the front door on Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am-2:30 pm. See how in the video below. Make sure the book has 1 copy available. Holds must be placed by 12:00 noon the day before you come to pick them up (or earlier).Students can return books in the box outside the front doors marked for media center books (any day Mon.-Thurs). View this slideshow for more details.Students in Plan A or B (in-person & remote) will check-out books when they come for Media class on the Connect schedule every 6-8 weeks (depending on grade level). Students in grades 2-5 can also place a "hold" on books in Destiny Library from home or school and we will deliver them to the student's classroom sometime Monday-Thursday. See how in the video below. Make sure the book has 1 copy available.Each teacher will have a bucket or table for students to return library books in their classroom. Library books cannot be re-circulated until they sit and self-sanitize for at least 72 hours.Kindergartners and 1st graders can hold/check-out 1 book at a time. 2nd-5th graders can hold/check-out 2 books at a time. Students with fines for lost/damaged books may only check-out 1 book until the books are returned or fines are satisfied.Books are checked out for a 2-week period, but students can return them sooner. If they need to keep a book a little longer, especially a long chapter book, they may keep it 3-4 weeks.Students can send a message to Mrs. McElveen in their Canvas Inbox if they have any questions or want me to renew a book for them.How to hold library books:
