• Library/Media Center Book Checkout:

Students in Plan C (all remote) can place library books on "hold" in Destiny Library and pick them up at the front door on Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am-2:30 pm. See how in the video below. Make sure the book has 1 copy available. Holds must be placed by 12:00 noon the day before you come to pick them up (or earlier).
Students can return books in the box outside the front doors marked for media center books (any day Mon.-Thurs). View this slideshow for more details.

Students in Plan A or B (in-person & remote) will check-out books when they come for Media class on the Connect schedule every 6-8 weeks (depending on grade level). Students in grades 2-5 can also place a "hold" on books in Destiny Library from home or school and we will deliver them to the student's classroom sometime Monday-Thursday. See how in the video below. Make sure the book has 1 copy available.

Each teacher will have a bucket or table for students to return library books in their classroom. Library books cannot be re-circulated until they sit and self-sanitize for at least 72 hours.

Kindergartners and 1st graders can hold/check-out 1 book at a time. 2nd-5th graders can hold/check-out 2 books at a time. Students with fines for lost/damaged books may only check-out 1 book until the books are returned or fines are satisfied.

Books are checked out for a 2-week period, but students can return them sooner. If they need to keep a book a little longer, especially a long chapter book, they may keep it 3-4 weeks.

Students can send a message to Mrs. McElveen in their Canvas Inbox if they have any questions or want me to renew a book for them.
