What is the Academy of Health Sciences?

  •  The Academy of Health Sciences at Northwest Cabarrus High School introduces students to health career possibilities through a series of career exploration courses. The AOHS curricula is vetted by industry professionals to ensure content is current and relevant, and addresses the critical achievement gap in STEM fields by developing a pipeline of students prepared to pursue health-related degrees and professions in one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy.

Academy programming allows students to take traditional high school courses with the addition of approximately one class per semester in the chosen career pathway. Students in our academy programs are still eligible for Advanced Placement (AP) and Career and College Promise (CCP) coursework, as well as athletics, extracurriculars and fine arts programming.
