I am honored to be serving as the principal of J.N. Fries Magnet School. Prior to working at J.N. Fries Magnet School, I served as the assistant principal at Harris Road Middle School.  I spent many years as an elementary teacher in Cabarrus County Schools before moving to administration.  I received my Masters in School Administration as a participant in the Principal Fellows Program at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I also received my Bachelors degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

My husband and I are the parents of three teenage children.  We spend the majority of our time supporting our children in their various activities.  My hobbies include running, gardening, hiking and snuggling with our two Labrador Retrievers.   

I am a proud to be a Noble Knight and member of the JN Fries leadership team. Prior to my role as assistant principal at JN Fries, I served as principal intern at CC Griffin STEM Middle School through the North Carolina Principal Fellows program and taught elementary school at W.M. Irvin Elementary School. I am proud to serve in Cabarrus County Schools.

I earned a Masters in School Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. When not on campus, you’ll find me with my husband and two little girls. We love to spend time outside and at sporting events.

I am beyond excited about joining J.N. Fries to serve you as your ITF and Principal Intern. I am originally from Gray, Georgia, where I grew up on a farm surrounded by our large extended family. I started my career as a high school English teacher at Georgia College Early College and began working as an instructional technology coach in 2018 for the Baldwin County School system. During that time, I also designed and directed Baldwin Online Academy. My wife and I moved to Cabarrus County last year when I took over as ITF of the Early Colleges here. 

I am a proud Bobcat of Georgia College and State University where I received my bachelor's, master's, and specialist's degrees, and also served as a professor of pre-education.

In my free time, I enjoy watching sci-fi movies, reading, gaming, cooking BBQ, and going on adventures with my wife and our two dogs: Clover and Jackson.
