Ms. Christin McDowell

 ABOUT ME:

 Welcome to middle school at the Virtual Academy! My name is Christin McDowell and I'm very pleased to begin my 16th year in education and my 3rd year with CVA. This year, I'm teaching Social Studies, 8th grade ELA/ALPS and Creative Writing, which is a new elective we are offering this year! Prior to joining the team at CVA I was a high school English teacher for 13 years.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hanging out with my rescue Foxhound, Copper, learning Italian, reading, writing, singing, typing on antique typewriters and all manner of creative pursuits. 

I truly view education as a collaborative process. Last year was a fantastic year and I am excited for students to grow and learn with me again this year!

Teams: I will add each student to the correct Team, but it will also be linked on the class Canvas homepage. Note: the class name on Teams includes the time for the class.

Canvas: You will be able to access your classes on Canvas. Parents, please sign up as a Canvas Observer so that you may monitor your student's academic progress. Here is a  Helpful video on how to join.
