Biotechnology and Agriculture continue to be growing industries in our state. Right in our backyard the North Carolina Research Campus is being built on the site of the former Canon Mills. It is involved in research the will create biotechnology jobs in our area. What a great opportunity for you.

Learning about biotechnology can lead students to explore jobs in agriculture, the environment, medicine, forensics and food and consumer goods. Biotechnology courses at Northwest Middle can lead into courses at the High School that go into more depth in health occupations, biotechnology and agriculture. Rowan Cabarrus Community College offers certifications and degrees that prepare people for biotechnology jobs. Most major universities in the UNC system have majors and offer degrees in biotechnology. These include UNC Charlotte, UNC Chapel Hill, and NCSU.

Northwest Middle's agriculture and biotechnology classes lead to a bright future career.
