Mrs. Rachel Esparza

I am so excited to be a part of the Villegas Counselors Team!  Prior to entering counseling I taught 3rd and 5th grade for eight years, and this is my third year as a school counselor.    Before entering the education and counseling field, I ran a children's group home in this area.  I supported my kids by providing a safe environment for them and seeing to their behavioral and educational needs.   I still do have a relationship with some of them now as adults.  I have a desire to help children navigate life challenges as it can be very difficult!  I will be splitting my time between Villegas and Arizona Middle Schools. While at Villegas, I will be serving students who need academic, social-emotional, and college career counseling.  I am also so very excited to be working with many of my former elementary students.  Watching them grow and thrive makes my heart happy!  When I'm not at work, you can find me at home with my husband, 3 amazing children (one is a Navy Veteran) and my two highly active boxer dogs, Apollo and Canelo whose passion is to tear up the backyard. In my free time, I like to spend time with family and workout at the gym.  I try my best to be active and eat healthy, however I still do LOVE tacos and chocolate! 2021-2022
