Ms. Wymer

Hello and welcome to my teacher page! My name is Ms. Wymer and my classroom is room 37. This is my 19th year teaching, and I am excited to start my seventh year at Villegas Middle School, teaching eighth grade Language Arts. 

I received my bachelor's degree, teaching credential and master's degree from California Baptist University. I have previously taught at Wells Middle School and Alvord High School, and I am also a graduate of Norte Vista High school (many, many years ago). Some personal tidbits about me are that I love reading, traveling and Starbucks. I also have a daughter in college at Arizona State University (Forks Up!). 

In eighth grade Language Arts we will be reading short stories, poetry, and non-fiction text to improve comprehension and fluency. We will also read a novel in the spring.  The main objective in Language Arts is that students are able to make a claim and support that claim with relevant evidence from the text. Students will be giving presentations to show what they have learned, as well as writing essays and doing daily classroom assignments that will help them to master the Language Arts standards and the 4 basic skills of Language Arts: reading, writing, speaking and listening. 

We will work mostly on paper assignments in class from Monday - Thursday, then on Fridays we will typically have a quiz and a writing prompt on Google Classroom.
