Mrs. Sherman

Welcome students! I am so very excited to begin this new school year with you. We will explore ancient world cultures through reading, writing, research, projects, food, activities, and more. I have been teaching a LONG time, and the majority of those years have been in middle school. I adore your age group. My goals are to give you the tools to grow as critical and deep readers, expand your writing skills and vocabulary, find ease and confidence when speaking in front of others, find meaningful cross-cultural lessons within world history, and appreciate the value of being a well-informed citizen. 

As  you will see when we meet, you can take the teacher out of New York, but you cannot take New York out of the teacher, so be kind when you hear me say water and daughter. When I am not working on lessons or grading, I enjoy reading, swimming, taking photographs, volunteering, and spending time with my family. I am the proud mother of three incredible children. My adult daughters and son have all attended Villegas Middle School.
