A student who meets one of the fourteen eligibility categories set by state and federal guidelines is eligible for Special Education; however, not every student with disabilities require special education. If a student’s needs can be met through classroom modifications, he/she will remain in general education to ensure complete access to the core curriculum which offers the richest educational environment. For students who need more, Special Education offers a continuum of services. Based on a student’s needs, those services which will give the child educational benefit to obtain their goals and objectives will be provided at no cost to the family.
