About Alvord Cares

Alvord Cares was established in 2017 to help ensure that students’ basic needs are met so they arrive at school ready to learn and build a foundation for college and careers. Alvord Cares is directed by a committee composed of the Board of Education, classified employees, certificated employees, managers, administrators, and representatives of the city of Riverside. The program is funded by monetary and nonperishable food donations from Alvord employees and outside organizations. All proceeds are used to assist Alvord students and families.
