• COUNTY PROGRAMS SPECIAL EDUCATION PROCEDURES

    All County Program Students

    All Students, All Ages

    Must be met by parent or, to be self-released, must have a signed and approved waiver on file with transportation.  Driver shall have a copy of the waiver in the route book. 

    When dropping off a student at home, if someone other than the parent is there to meet the student, drivers must call into dispatch to check emergency card and receive approval to release the student.

    • 3 Day Rule – If the student does not show up for the bus for 3 or more consecutive days, notify dispatch before you discontinue transportation.
    • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) route must have bus aide and car seats for all students.
    • All route changes must be pre-approved by dispatch
    • Any concerns regarding routes or stops must be reported to dispatch

    Requirements for transporting wheelchairs:

    • Wheelchair must be properly equipped and secured
    • Wheelchair brakes must work properly
    • Wheelchairs must be equipped with a lap belt
    • Check with dispatch for seating restraints and any other special transportation needs  
  • ALVORD PROGRAMS SPECIAL EDUCATION PROCEDURES

    All Alvord Special Education Students

    All Students Attending California School for the Deaf Riverside (CSDR)

     

    Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 1st Grade

    Must be met by parent or call dispatch.  No waivers for this age group.

    2nd Grade (Minimum age 7) through 6th Grade

    When dropping off a student at home, if someone other than the parent is there to meet the student, drivers must call into dispatch to check emergency card and receive approval to release the student.

    7th Grade through 12th Grade

    Unless otherwise noted on route sheet students are self-release.

    • 3 Day Rule – If the student does not show up for the bus for 3 or more
