Mrs. Kristen Moorhouse, Principal

Hello--and welcome to Ysmael Villegas Middle School--Home of the Patriots!  We are proud of our fantastic students and staff and look forward to creating a safe and warm environment that will help all students reach their potential.

Proudly named for a Riverside Medal of Honor recipient, Ysmael Villegas Middle School strives to model the courage, valor, and honor demonstrated by its namesake. All stakeholders are valued and work collaboratively to facilitate a rigorous standards-based curricular program while providing a positive learning environment. Villegas Middle School pursues it's shared vision of developing both the affective and cognitive domains of all students while pursuing academic excellence and positive citizenship in a safe, nurturing environment.

It is an honor to be the principal of this great school. Prior to this assignment, I have had the opportunity to serve at Villegas as the assistant principal, the instructional coach, and a math teacher.  I love the Villegas community and am honored to be a part of the AUSD team.  My experiences in education so far have strengthened me as an individual, as an educator and as a mother.  My husband and I are the proud parents of two children, one of which attends an Alvord school.  We are deeply invested in the success of all students at Villegas and throughout the district.  I am proud of this school and look forward to working with everyone to make this school even greater than it already is.

Our staff is very excited about this school year and we are really looking forward to an outstanding year.  For those of you who have new 6th graders here at Villegas, we welcome you and look forward to your involvement at our fantastic school.  For those of you who have returning students, we hope to make their last years at Villegas great.  I look forward to serving as your principal and getting to know all of you a little more personally.

Sincerely,

Kristen Moorhouse

Principal
