Minutes for the meeting of September 14, 2021

  • The regular meeting of the Warsaw Central School Board of Education was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle/High School Building by Mr. Robb.

     

    Members Present:  Mr. Robb, Mrs. Royce, Mrs. Tangeman, Mrs. Baker, Mr. McGinnis,

    Mr. Grover, Mr. Tarbell

                                 

    Members Absent:  None.

     

    Others Present: Mr. Wilkins, Ms. Grisewood, Mrs. Burnham, Mrs. Monahan, Mr. Webb, Mr. Ellis, Mrs. D’Amico, Mr. Gayford, Mrs. Plotz, Mr. Bark, 7 students/parents/community members

     

    Mr. Robb turned the meeting over to Mrs. Burnham for purpose of conducting commencement exercises for two students.

     

    Mrs. Burnham lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

     

    Commencement exercise was held.

     

    Moved by Mr. Grover, seconded by Mr. McGinnis that the Board approve the minutes for August 10, 12, 24, 31, 2021, as written.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0

     

    A recent lightning strike took down a neighboring tree and may have caused some damage to the new generator at the MHS.  Will be working to determine if that is the problem and get the generator back up and working properly.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Royce, seconded by Mr. Tarbell that the Board of Education approve the revised adult meal prices for the 2021-22 school year, as follows.

     

     

    Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Tangeman, seconded by Mrs. Royce that the Board accept, with appreciation, the $700 donation from the Buffalo Bills Foundation.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Tangeman, seconded by Mrs. Royce that the Board approve the Philadelphia Insurance Agreement, as proposed, and authorize the Business Administrator to execute said agreement.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Royce, seconded by Mrs. Baker that the Board of Education accept and allow Perry Central School District to piggyback on the 2021-22 transportation contract between Warsaw Central School district and C & F Transportation, transporting students between Warsaw and Norman Howard, with the same terms and conditions.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Tangeman, seconded by Mrs. Royce that the Board approve the agreement with Supplemental Staffing Agreement with WorkFit Medical for the 2021-22 school year, as proposed, and authorize the Superintendent of Schools to execute said agreement.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mr. Tarbell, seconded by Mrs. Baker that the Board approve the sheltering agreement with SLP Therapy of WNY, as proposed, and authorize the Director of Special Services to execute said agreement.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Tangeman, seconded by Mr. McGinnis that the Board appoint Mrs. Royce as Clerk Pro Tem for the remainder of the Board Meeting.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    The District Clerk was dismissed at 6:40 p.m. and the following took place as recorded by Mrs. Royce, Clerk Pro Tem.

    Moved by Mrs. Royce, seconded by Mr. Grover that the Board enter Executive Session at 6:40 p.m. for the purpose of discussing matters leading to the appointment/employment of a particular person.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

    Moved by Mrs. Baker, seconded by Mrs. Royce that the Board approve the Anime Extracurricular Activity Block, as proposed.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mr. Grover, seconded by Mr. McGinnis that the Board approve the following resolution:

     

    WHEREAS, pursuant to New York State Education Law §3012-c and Subpart 30-2 of the Rules of the Board of Regents, The District is required to adopt an Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) Plan; and

    WHEREAS, §30-2.9 of the Commissioner’s Regulations require that any individual serving as lead evaluator of Principals in this District be certified by the Board of Education as a qualified lead evaluator of Principals; and

    WHEREAS, to qualify for certification as a lead evaluator of Principals an individual shall successfully complete a training course that meets the minimum requirements prescribed in §30-2.9(b) of the Commissioner’s regulations; and

    WHEREAS, the Board of Education has reviewed the training record of Kimberly Monahan, and;

    WHEREAS Kimberly Monahan has meet the minimum requirements; now, therefore,

    BE IT RESOLVED, that the District hereby certifies Kimberly Monahan as lead evaluator of Principals for the 2021-22 school year.

    Moved by Mr. Grover, seconded by Mr. McGinnis that the Board approve the following resolution:

    WHEREAS Amy Burnham, Kimberly D’Amico, Kari Grisewood, Rodney Harris, Bethany Henke, Kimberly Monahan, Coley Webb, Matthew Wilkins have meet the minimum requirements; now, therefore,

    BE IT RESOLVED, that the District hereby certifies Amy Burnham, Kimberly D’Amico, Kari Grisewood, Rodney Harris, Bethany Henke, Kimberly Monahan, Coley Webb, Matthew Wilkins as lead evaluator of Teachers for the 2021-22 school year. Further, that Bethany Henke be certified as a lead evaluator of Teachers for the 2020-21.

    Moved by Mr. Grover, seconded by Mr. Tarbell that the Board approve the Feinerman Agreement with regard to a Science Teaching Position for the 2021-22 school year, as proposed, and authorize the Superintendent of Schools to execute said agreement.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mrs. Baker, seconded by Mrs. Tangeman that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board approve Personnel Schedule 514, as revised. Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.

     

    Moved by Mr. Grover, seconded by Mr. McGinnis that the regular meeting of the Warsaw Central School Board of Education be adjourned at 8:04 p.m.; subject to the call of the President.  Motion Carried:  Yes 7, No 0, Abstain 0.
