On March 18, 2016, 81 students from eight schools from the Rio School District and Oxnard School District participated in the 2016 Rio Chess Tournament. It was a success due to Mr. Jack Cashman, the Tournament Director, the many volunteers that came to help, and of course the amazing students who participated.
