As a teacher, you may be apprehensive about the California Common Core Standards however, we would like to reaffirm that the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are not intended to completely replace the current content area standards. Rather, they are intended to build upon the standards that you are already teaching in your classroom. The CCSS were created to assist you in helping your students increase their learning of real-world skills and knowledge so that they are well-equipped to compete in a global society.
