Working...
Mrs. Whitworth's third graders snuck in one more learning experience in before Christmas break. While the other elementary kids were opening presents and playing, they were in a high school science classroom observing a ball python eat a rat. It was quite the experience! Some of them had watched it happen in Second Grade, but not all of them. There were a lot of "gross", "ooo and ahh's" and gasps. The expressions on the student's faces were priceless. One of the most difficult things was remaining quiet so the snake could locate it's prey and enjoy it's meal peacefully. Before the live feeding, Mrs. Parajara let the students hold and touch the snake. She also answered several questions. One of the bits of information the students learned was that this feeding takes place once a month. Thank you, Mrs. Parajara, for the experience!
