In observance of National Jell-O week, the children were given the opportunity to research Jell-O and earn some extra credit in Science.  The students have been studying matter and discovered that Jell-O goes through two states of matter, liquid and solid.  They also learned another "interesting" fact...one of the main ingrediants in Jell-O is gelatin.  Gelatin is a protein obtained by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, and/or bones with water. It is usually obtained from cows or pigs. Gelatin is used in shampoos, face masks, and other cosmetics; as a thickener for fruit gelatins and puddings (such as Jell-O); in candies, marshmallows, cakes, ice cream, and yogurts.  The children found this to be quite GROSS!!  After the children wrote a paper about the history behind Jell-O, they were challenged to make a creation from Jell-O.  We hope you enjoy looking at our Jell-O creations!!
