Second Quarter Mid-Term Writing Skills
Third Grade

 

These are writing skills your child should have mastered by mid-term of 2nd Quarter.

1. Write a complete sentence including a subject, a predicate, and correct grammar.
2. Start each sentence with a capital letter.
3. End each sentence with the correct punctuation.
4. Write a friendly letter including a date, greeting, body, closing, and signature.  The friendly letter should be properly spaced with correct capitalization and punctuation.
5. Their writing piece should include a beginning, middle, and end and make sense.

 

These are writing skills we are currently working on.  They should be mastered by the end of 2nd Quarter.

1. Write a paragraph with a topic sentence.  
2. Write a paragraph with at least 3 supporting details.
3. Write a paragraph with a concluding sentence.
