If you are here, chances are, you are new to MBE. We are so glad you are here! All newcomer students in grades 1 - 6 will have the opportunity to participate in a Newcomers Lunch Bunch Group during the fall semester. We will meet three times during August and September and again in November or December.
The Newcomer Group goals are:
- To ensure students feel welcomed
- To build relationships among newcomer peers
- To ease the transition to a new school by discussing common concerns (making friends, new rules and expectations, missing old friends, etc.) when moving to a new school
- For Mrs. Carlisle, Mrs. McCombs, and Mr. Aaron to build relationships with each of the newcomers
- To work as a group to identify strategies to address concerns
