• At MBE, we strive to create a safe environment for all of our students, but, recognize that in the process of growing up and learning appropriate social skills, mistakes happen. Sometimes those mistakes become repeated behaviors that result in bullying. The information included below is intended to guide parents in supporting their child when unwelcome behavior is reported at home.

If behaviors are reported to parents about concerns at school, please contact the teacher immediately! We want to make sure to address your concerns as soon as possible to make sure your child feels safe.
    • Encourage your child to report concerns directly to the teacher or nearest adult if the behavior continues.
    • Reinforce your child’s positive characteristics. Remind your child that the behaviors directed towards them are a reflection of the other person, not of them.

    1. Conflict resolution between peers is encouraged.
    2. Teacher will address the concern with the student separate from peers.
    3. Teachers will separate students as much as possible.
    4. Referral to the counselor to work on appropriate social skills and communication will be made.
    5. Disciplinary referral to the office will be made.

    Reporting Bullying and Harassment

If you are aware of bullying or harassment, please report it to the appropriate school principal. We provide the following form to assist this process, but we hope that a report of bullying and harassment, when possible, would include an in-person meeting with school officials.
