POLICIES & PROCEDURES / Formal Complaint
FORMAL COMPLAINT
Any citizen or parent has the right to formally complain about an employee, a policy, and/or a procedure.
The Board and MUSD employees strive to create a safe learning environment where every student is a valued member of our school community. When a student feels s/he is not able to learn because another person is harassing, intimidating, or bullying him/her, it is important that s/he informs an adult both at home and at school so that the problem can be resolved. There are several Board policies and administrative regulations that address complaints regarding bullying, harassment, and sexual harassment. The Uniform Complaint Procedures provides the framework and timelines for investigating any of these types of complaints. These procedures and policies are found in the MUSD Student Parent Handbook as well as several locations on our MUSD website (MUSD Board Policies, Bullying, Procedures and Policies, school home pages). These resources are assembled here as well. Please do not hesitate to talk with your school’s principal or the Title IX Coordinator if you need help in addressing a complaint that you or your child may have.
