Tonjia Potts, Ed.S
Mrs. Tonjia Potts has been an educator with Maury County Public Schools for the past 29 years. She was a high school teacher for 23 years, ELA consultant for two years, Assistant Principal at McDowell Elementary for 2.5 years, and the Interim Principal at McDowell until its closing in June of 2021. Mrs. Potts earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Middle Tennessee State University and her Education Specialist degree at Lipscomb University as a graduate of the first cohort of the Tennessee Transformational Leadership Alliance. During her years at McDowell, her focus was on creating a rigorous learning environment that embraces restorative practices and empowers students and teachers to build and nurture relationships with those around them.
Mrs. Potts began her tenure as principal of E. A. Co Middle School in July of 2021.
