    Celebrate Literacy Hopkins County

Hopkins County Literacy Celebration was originally started in conjunction with Kentucky Literacy Celebration Week

Local initiatives have included the Birdhouse Libraries. The idea behind this project is that patrons will “take a book and get a book.” At least 17 libraries have been placed throughout Hopkins County. Click the link for a list of locations.

The “Ask Me” Button project provides Literacy Celebration bracelets to schoolchildren in preschool through 5th grade. Tables will be set up at advertised locations around the county. Any student wearing the bracelet who goes to a table and asks a volunteer will be allowed to pick out a free book.

    To Help:

We need volunteers to serve on the Literacy Celebration Committee and help during events. If you are interested, please contact Lindsay Arnett at lindsay.arnett@hopkins.kyschools.us or Lori Harrison at lori.harrison@hopkins.kyschools.us.
