Training DatesThe Amazing Shake will provide training for students on the following dates from 2:50 to 3:50 PM. Students must be picked up promptly at 3:50 PM. Attendance at these training sessions is mandatory for those intending to compete.- Tuesday, February 27, 2024- Tuesday, March 12, 2024- Tuesday, March 19, 2024- Tuesday, March 26, 2024Competition DatesThe Amazing Shake competitions for students will take place on the following dates and times. Students are responsible for their transportation unless otherwise noted and must arrive on time. Failure to attend a competition date will result in automatic disqualification.- Tuesday, March 5, 2024: This competition will occur during the school day, with a one-minute, one-on-one conversation with up to thirty community members. The top 25 students from James Madison will advance to the next round.- Thursday, March 14, 2024: Taking place after school from 4 PM to around 6 PM at Browning Springs Middle School, this competition involves scenarios to test students' ability to "think on their feet." The top 40 students from the district will advance to the next round.- Thursday, March 21, 2024: Held at Catering and Creations starting at 5 PM, this competition focuses on table etiquette, conversation manners, and overall ability to "work the room." The top 10 students from the district will advance.- Thursday, March 28, 2024: Taking place at Madisonville Community College starting at 4 PM, this competition involves a panel interview with up to eight community members present. The top five students will be announced district-wide at a later date.
