Welcome to Eleanor Joy Toll Middle School for the 2019-2020 school year!
Students become life-long and life-wide learners through a well-rounded educational experience at Toll. The Common Core Standards aim to develop students who are critical thinkers, lead-learners and who are college and career ready by the completion of their K-12 school experience. Toll is committed to achieving this by blazing pathways and fostering passion and interests in all of our students.
We offer unique experiences in visual arts, performing arts, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), and career technology. We are proud of our Culinary Arts program, a STEAM lab for our growing robotics and coding program and a “Tinker” or “Maker” space for all classes to utilize for project-based learning opportunities.
Toll emphasizes rigorous academics enhanced by the teaming of our students across content areas in grade-level cores, and as a proud participant in Glendale Unified School District’s “FLAG program,” offers dual-immersion in several foreign languages. We are excited to welcome the students and families in the Italian and French programs who will be joining our robust Spanish, Korean, and Armenian groups.
Our school provides a safe and secure campus environment that our diverse student body is proud to call home. Although students head to high school only two or three years after they arrive, the lessons learned at Toll will last them a lifetime. We are an inclusive community of students, educators and families focused on the values of success, respect, cleanliness, punctuality and service.
In 2019-2020, Toll will continue implementation of PBIS (positive behavior intervention support) in addition to supporting students’ social and emotional health through our Student Wellness Center. Our faculty and staff model the expectations we have for our students by being a collaborative culture where all Titans learn together.
These exciting endeavors are made possible through a joint effort with the GUSD, the Glendale community, the Toll faculty and an amazing parent-support base. We encourage parents to get involved in our PTA or the Toll Foundation. We’d love to see you on our campus. Toll hosts monthly CHAT (Coffee Hour at Toll) meetings where parents can learn more about the school. There is a vital link between home and school communication and student success as we are partners in your child’s education. Information on how you can get involved is found on the home page of our school website. Learn more about our school by signing-up for our school E-Bulletin through the link at the bottom of the Toll Middle School homepage on the school website. We challenge all Titans to “Be the Change...” as we ask them to celebrate both our uniqueness as individuals and our universal commonalities. Thank you for your support of all Titans, here is to a happy, exciting, and productive school year.
