I am Mrs. Disa Gantt, a second grade teacher at Dudley Shoals Elementary.  I graduated in December 2004 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration on Social Sciences (psychology and sociology).  Since graduating, I have worked as a second grade teacher at Dudley. 

My husband, Josh, is from Lincolnton, NC and works at Southern States. We have a spunky 16-year-old daughter named Kialyn who is completely spoiled by all of our friends and relatives. We also have a daughter named Laynie who was starts kindergarten this year.  

Some fun facts about Mrs. Gantt:

~ I am left handed.

~ I work at Hickory Motor Speedway every Saturday from March until Mid-October.

~ I LOVE chocolate and butterflies.

~ Purple is my favorite color. 

~ My favorite books are The Giver, The Messenger, The Silent Boy, and Gathering Blue.  All are by Lois Lowery.

~ I love to teach math and science.

~ I would wear my pajamas and footies everyday if I could!
