Bonjour! My name is Tara Furr, or to my students, Madame.
I began my teaching career 26 years ago in neighboring Stanly County. This year it is a privilege to be in my 16th year teaching in Tiger Territory! As a former graduate of the “old” MPHS, I'm a true tiger at heart!
I first fell in love with the French language in high school. It was then that I took my first trip abroad to explore the country that I’d learned to love. While pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in French at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte I participated in an exchange program to the University of Limoges in Limoges, France. I have led several student tours throughout France, most recently in July ’16. Unfortunately, tavel has not been possible in recent years due to COVID. Hopefully, we will be able to make travel plans again in the near future.
Away from school, I spend most of my time with my family! Together we enjoy the great outdoors (hunting, fishing, gardening & sports), spending time with family & friends, and participating in church & community activities.
I am looking forward to a great semester! Allons, tigres! (Let's go, Tigers!) Vive les tigres! (Long live the Tigers!)
