What is PBIS?
-
Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a system that promotes proactive behavioral strategies to support our student’s success academically, socially, and emotionally within our school building.
At MPHS, we are working to sustain school-wide expectations in the areas of being being respectful, being responsible, striving for excellence, and being safe throughout different areas in our building, including the classroom, bathrooms, cafeteria, and hallways. Students are explicitly taught what it means to be safe, responsible, and respectful everywhere in our school and positive student behavior is acknowledged daily. Our expectation matrix is displayed throughout our building in a variety of ways and can be accessed using the link in the left side bar of this page.
All students are eligible to participate in PBIS. Students and staff can fill out a STRIPES nominiation to acknowledge positive behavior, which will then be displayed in various locations in the building. Students that follow our expectations and earn STRIPES will be acknowledged at the end of each quarter. See the calendar link in the left side bar of this page.
Tigers, show us your STRIPES!
