Mrs. Heather Shulman

This is my 14th year in education and I'm happy to be joining the Hickory Ridge Elementary School family!  I worked in Union County Public Schools for 10 years and now beginning my 4th year in Cabarrus County Schools.  I live in Harrisburg with my husband Kevin and our two sons Collin and Connor.  We also have a sweet dog named Bentley who we adopted several years ago.  My family and I moved here from New Jersey 13 year ago because my husband was tired of shoveling snow and we have been happy and warm ever since.

In May 2002, I graduated from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.  After a career change from insurance to education, I earned my Master's Degree in Library Science from North Carolina Central University in December 2015.

From the time I first read "Danny the Dinosaur" all by myself I have been an avid reader.  I look forward to sharing my love of reading with the students of Hickory Ridge Elementary and introducing them to book genres, authors, and illustrators.  We are going to have a great year!
