Ms. Pickhardt

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Mary Pickhardt. I am overjoyed to be a partner in your child's education this year! My goal is for my classroom to be a place where all students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged. Every day is a new day to learn, and I aim to provide my students with the tools to be academically and socially successful. Relationships with students are vital for my teaching: when students feel secure, they are ready to learn and have fun in the classroom!

A little about me: I grew up in Waxhaw, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University in beautiful Boone, NC. I received my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in music. I love to use music in my classroom- I find it engages students and is a fun instructional tool. I adore working with Kindergartners because their excitement for the world around them is contagious and they inspire me to be a positive force for those around me!

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, playing instruments, and spending time with friends and my 6 siblings. During the summers, I work at a Montessori Preschool. I am honored to be a part of your child's most formative years, and I cannot wait to meet them! This will be a year to remember! I'll see you soon!
