Welcome to Music at Irvin!

2023 is off to a great start!

We are continuing to explore and experiment with playing the pianos in all grades. K/1 has worked primarily on playing by finger numbers. Grades 2-5 are beginning to read standard notation! We are slowly learning but we are making progress. The first question each day is "Are we playing pianos today?"

Grades 3-5 are also playing the recorder :) Many of you have thanked me for these as you have enjoyed them at home! Seriously, the kids are playing really well with me at school.

3rd grade will play the recorders and sing songs from around the world at our Cultural Night on April 20th. More details to come.

Kindergarten is preparing songs for "Gettin' Down with Mother Goose,"  sometime in May or June 2023. More details to come.

As always, if you have any instruments or music books you no longer want or need, I would love to have them!
