Mrs. Lauren Hall

Hello! My Name is Lauren Hall and I am so excited to be returning to Irvin this year. This is my 5th year teaching and 5th year in 4th grade! Before coming to Irvin I worked at a school in Winston Salem, NC teaching 4th grade. I have experience in second and 1st grade as well through student teaching and interim positions. 

Over the summer I got married so you may see my name as Lauren Penland or Lauren Hall, we are the same person! My family consists of me, my husband, John, our two dogs and three cats! When we are not at work we love to spend our time outdoors or watching our favorite movies! 

I attended Western Carolina University, where I performed in the marching band for three of my four years there playing the flute. I also spent time hiking all through the beautiful mountains surrounding campus.  In  December of 2016 I graduated with my bachelors in elementary education. After graduation I took some time away from the classroom to work in Outdoor Education at a camp that I spent my summers working at. While working here I got to teach Science hands on in the environment that we were learning about as well as working high ropes obstacle courses, canoeing, and hiking up the camp's mountain! I loved it but soon made my way back the indoor classroom where I learned even more about teaching and working with my own groups of students.

I am excited for this year to begin!
