Mr. Travis Brown

Mr. Travis B. Brown, LMSW (NY), LCSW-A (NC) is a 28 year-old native of Buffalo, New York. He obtained his education at Canisius College where he received his Bachelor’s in Psychology (2015) and continued to further his education at SUNY at Buffalo where he received his Master of Social Work (2018).

 

Mr. Brown has had the opportunity to serve as a Social Worker in various capacities. Upon graduation, he landed a job working for Child Protection Services as a Case Manager through Erie County DSS. Within this experience, he received a number of certifications to help identify and respond to a number of diverse situations (NYS Core Training and NYS Forensic Interviewing). Mr. Brown's ended his Social Work career in Buffalo, New York at Buffalo Public Schools, where he served a School Social Worker, and Erie County Medical Center, where he served as a Hospital Social Worker through the BRAVE Program. Through these opportunities, Mr. Brown was able to perfect his therapeutic skills and learned how to navigate quickly and sufficiently through crisis situations to help others who were unable to help themselves.

 

Outside of his professional entity, Mr. Brown loves to practice SELF-CARE. He likes to spend his free time catching up with family & friends, trying different foods, and traveling. One of Mr. Brown's favorite pastimes are eating a single order of Buffalo Wings (w/ a Loganberry drink on the side) and watching football (#BILLSMAFIA).

 

As Mr. Brown has newly transitioned to Charlotte, North Carolina, he is eager and excited to take on the role as a School Social Worker for Cabarrus County Schools. In this role, not only does he want to promote academic achievement for all students, but collaboration and inclusivity with all school partners involved. Mr. Brown welcomes the opportunity to work with W.M. Irvin Elementary School this 2022-2023 academic year.
