Welcome to a very exciting year at Biloxi Junior High School!

I am happy to have your child in my class and look forward to a wonderful year learning and growing with them. I have been teaching science for 22 years and have loved every minute. I earned my degree from Mississippi State University and have one daughter, Marleigh, who has autism. I was selected as Teacher of the Year in 2018 and this year I received the Beverly Briscoe award for excellence in education. 

During the school year, we will be learning in our new science lab once a week. We will also be reading about current science events using Science World magazines. Most assignments will be completed in class. Students have been given a planner and I encourage you to work with your child to make sure they write assignments in their planner. This will give your child some responsibility for his or her success in class. We will spend time working in groups, as well as independently. Middle school can be a challenging year from many students, so working together we can insure that your child is successful.
