Welcome to 8th Grade ELA!

My name is Krislyn Clinton, and I am so excited about being your teacher this year! I was born and raised in Biloxi, MS, so I am very glad to be a Biloxi Indian (you don't always hear that from a former Warrior)! I graduated from Mississippi State University (GO DAWGS!) with a degree in education in May of 2020, and in December of 2022, I graduated with my Masters degree from Mississippi College. This year will be my 4th year in the classroom and my first year as the administrative assistant director for the Sound Storm Showchoir. 

English was and is my favorite subject and passion. I have wanted to become a teacher for as long as I can remember, so I am grateful that I get to share this experience with all of you. This year, we will be reading several short stories as well as a fiction novel, Ender's Game, and a nonfiction novel, Unbroken, all of which we will use to broaden our reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. In addition, we will work to further develop our writing skillsI am prepared to provide you with the tools necessary to be successful in my class this year! I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us!

Hobbies of mine include spending time with my friends and family, attending concerts, playing with my dogs, reading, watching sports, traveling, and fishing.
