Southampton High School Parking
Note: Effective September 4, 2012
we will be implementing a new parking plan at Southampton High School. Please know that all prior parking assignments will no longer be applicable after September 4th. This parking plan will increase handicapped accessible parking and provide visitors and community members with applicable parking while maintaining an appropriate amount of parking for staff and students. The details of the new plan are as follows:
Bus Loop
The Bus Loop Parking Lot will be reserved for SHS visitors, handicapped registered vehicles, building and district administration, and select personnel. This change will increase available parking for SHS visitors/community members and handicapped registered vehicles. Only notified select personnel will be allowed to park in spots labeled “reserved.” School personnel utilizing the “reserved” parking will be notified by the building principal.
Staff Parking
All instructional and non-instruction faculty and staff (inclusive of teachers, teacher assistants, aides, clerical staff, custodial staff, and kitchen staff) parking will be located in the rear parking lot. Faculty and staff will have over 100 white lined parking spaces. All white lined faculty and staff parking will be on a first come, first serve basis. There will be no reserved parking in the rear of the school.
Student Parking
Seniors who hold a valid NYS drivers license and who have obtained a valid Southampton High School parking pass will be permitted to park in the rear parking lot. Students will be permitted to park in yellow lined parking spaces only. These parking spaces will be on a first come, first serve basis and will be located near the tennis courts in the rear parking lot. Seniors can obtain a parking pass from the Assistant Principals office beginning Monday, September 17th.
Additional Parking
All seniors with valid parking permits, faculty and staff have the option of parking on the newly designed parking spaces on Narrow Lane. The newly installed sidewalk provides a safe route to the front entrance of Southampton High School.
