    Financial Operations

The Southampton School District is a public Pre-K – Grade 12 school district that generates its revenues primarily from the school district residents through property taxes. However, additional revenue sources may also include federal and state aid, STAR payments, grants, tuitions from sending districts and private individuals, interests, and miscellaneous sources, which support the voter-approved annual budget.

As the Business Office, our main mission is to support and respond to the needs of the students, staff, and community members. Through the annual budget process, we ensure the proper alignment of available financial resources with the instructional goals and objectives set forth by the Superintendent in collaboration with the BOE. Also within that mission, we are committed to providing the public with comprehensive district financial information on a timely basis.

It is our duty to implement the rules and regulations set forth by the elected Southampton Board of Education through their adopted policies, and regulations. Additionally, we ensure close adherence to all guidelines set forth by the New York State Education Department, the Board of Regents, and the United States Internal Revenue Service.

Please call us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the financial and non-instructional departments of the District – Facilities Operations and Maintenance, Transportation, Food Service and Technology, Office Personnel Support Staff, District Security Department, and Business Office  operations.  We are here to listen, answer your questions, and serve the Southampton community.

    Thank you,
    Jean E. Mingot
    Assistant Superintendent for Business
