Physical Education 2021
Welcome Back to School! School is back in session and I am ready to have everyone back in my Physical Education classes. The first thing I would like to mention is that it would be a good idea that all students bring a water bottle to school and bring it to P.E. with them. This will help keep the traffic at the water fountains down and help with not catching possible sickness. Second, we just had our gym floor refinished and with a brand new design. To help keep it looking new we need your child to bring a clean pair of gym shoes to class. These shoes should not be the same shoes they wear to school, but a separate pair that they only use in Gym class. In addition to clean gym shoes, to not lose points and not be considered a “no dress” they must have a separate shirt and pair of shorts to change into for class.
Classes will consist of your student learning traditional games such as; Badminton, Pickleball, Volleyball, Flag Football, and Basketball (Plus many others). I also test every student from middle school thru high school on muscle strength/endurance and cardiovascular fitness. I test the students each quarter on how many Push-Ups and Sit-ups they can do in 30 sec in middle school and 1 minute in high school. They also run a timed mile that is based on their age requirement in the Presidential Physical Fitness Test. All 7th grade and all Freshmen in my classes will take the Presidential Physical Fitness Test.
I am excited to announce that we are trying to add something new for the future. We are in the process of adding Archery to our curriculum. This would allow our students a new activity that could open doors for them in the future.
I'm excited to have everyone back and I’m looking forward to having a great year!
