Physical Education 6th-12th Grade
We are back from Thanksgiving and full of all the delicious meals we have eaten over the holiday! In our Physical Education classes, we will be making a switch from mostly game units to a more Physical Fitness lesson. It is important to understand your body and how exercising will keep it in top shape and operating at peak performance. This will not only help you physically but can help you live a longer, healthier lifestyle.
All Physical Education classes grades 6-12 will be learning how to find key physical markers like minimum, maximum and target heart rate, their body mass index, major muscle groups and their functions, different cardiovascular and muscular exercises, along with the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In doing so we will be performing some aerobic tests, flexibility measurements and spending time in the school's fitness facility. This will help be an informative unit to help students learn how to improve their fitness and live a more healthy lifestyle.
