Physical Education
In Physical Education, the students have been doing different game units so far this year. We have completed some units like Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Mat Ball, Badminton and we are currently on Volleyball. In my Middle School classes, they have also been working on improving their Physical Fitness. The 6th-grade girls, 7th-grade boys and girls, and the 8th-grade girls have completed running the timed mile run, recorded one minute of push-ups and sit-ups, and also recorded their times on the shuttle run. This month, the 7th-grade class will start their Missouri state physical fitness testing which will consist of four tests.
Our High School Physical Education class has been completing the same game units as the Middle School. They also complete daily running with exercises to increase their fitness level. We also have two Physical Development classes that are made up of co-ed athletes and one class of all girl athletes that want to maintain peak performance throughout the school year for their desired sport. They go through rigorous workouts which include weightlifting, agility exercises, cardio training, stretching and yoga, and plyometric strength training. Both classes work hard and continue to improve on areas that need development.
