A Continued Partnership
As the Putnam County Midget varsity basketball season rolls around again during these uncertain times, the one thing FBLA can count on is the steadfast support of Duvall, Roeder, and Gardner Insurance Group of Unionville and their willingness to support our students. This will be the third year where we have had the halftime show during the boys game and provide a little entertainment for the crowd. How does this work? Before the game, in the commons, there are FBLA students manning the signup sheet, where any alumni can sign for a chance to win. (Some have even been known to sign up their friends.) Then during the halftime of the boys game, the students draw a number from our jar and select the corresponding name on the sign-up sheet. After calling the Midget Fan to the floor, they then have a choice to shoot a free throw or a three-pointer for the chance to win $50 or $100 respectfully. If the participant misses their chance then the FBLA Chapter gets to keep the cash, but if they sink the shot, they get to walk out with the moolah! Over the last two years, DRG has donated over $1200 to our local chapter, where we graciously use the money for field trips, conference and competition registrations, and other expenses. They are a fun group of people to work with, and we are truly blessed by the continued partnership. Thank you, Aaron Duvall, and everyone from the insurance group!
