PCMS Strives for Student Success
We are now past the PC Fair craziness and students at Putnam County Middle School are well adjusted and familiar with the routine and procedures set aside to ensure student success.
Everything is seemingly going well in the Middle School but some students are struggling to get all assignments completed on time.
If you are one of those students, please know there are simple strategies that you can do to help yourself.
1) Use your agenda to help you stay organized. Some kids don't like using the agenda, but if you will use it as a tool to help you stay on top of your homework assignments, you will soon see it as a valuable tool. Take the time and write in it each class period.
2) Use a folder and notebook for each class. Although for some, having a notebook and folder for each class can seem cumbersome, for others, it's a time-saver. Use these items for just the class it's specified for and you will always be able to find your assignments at a moments notice.
3) Double check to be sure each assignment is complete before you turn it in. Sometimes students are hurried and think they finish assignments when actually they do not. That problem can be solved by simply checking over your work before you put it away and turn it in.
4) Set aside time each day for schoolwork. Usually, when school is over, we're all shot and ready to go home and not open another book until the next day, However, for some of us, we need that extra time at home to complete work that we did not finish at school. Homework is not a punishment, it is an extended learning opportunity.
If you need more help or suggestions in getting your assignments completed on time, please contact any of your teachers or evoke the help of your parents or someone you trust.
